Coping with Change

Although we live in a world that is ever changing, coping with changes can still be hard. Many children need time to adapt to changes in their life. Such changes can include parental separation, moving house, moving schools, health concerns in the home, disruptions to their ‘norm’ such as a parent getting a new job or a new sibling being born. Big changes can make children feel like their world is ‘out of control’ so it Is our job to help them bring it back into order.

We can help our children by taking the time to sit and listen to what they have to say, how they are feeling, and what they need from the grown ups in their lives.
