Managing Emotions

Happy. Sad. Frustrated. Confused. Anxious. Excited. Relieved. Disgust. Surprised.

Everyone experiences and expresses their emotions differently, and children are no exception. Sometimes our emotions can get the best of us and even as adults we can struggle to communicate how we are feeling so it’s no surprise that our children also struggle to ‘use their words’ and tell us how they feel.

The following sections provide resources relating to three key areas of managing emotions. Providing you at home with some tips and activities to better understand and support your child as they develop their skills to manage and communicate their emotions effectively.
